The Parish of Kings Stanley is made up of three villages; Kings Stanley, Middleyard and Selsley and is bounded by the River Frome to the north and Selsley Common, part of the Cotswold Ridge and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, to the south. The Parish also borders an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Cotswold Way runs through the Parish and there is footpath access to the Woodland Trust's Penn Wood.
